What filling material do you use?

We are a metal free practice, so we only use tooth colored fillings. White fillings or composite filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling. Because composite is a tooth colored filling, you can hardly notice anything!

What else can you use it for?

Composite fillings can be used to repair chipped teeth and for closing space between two teeth.

How are composite fillings placed?

Composite fillings are usually placed in one appointment. This is why we recommend detecting those small cavities in the early stages. Your local, trusted dentist will remove all the decay, clean it up nicely and place a filling. If the decay was close to the nerve, a special medication is applied so that it is not sensitive. It is normal to experience some amount of sensitivity immediately after the filling was placed as it usually takes some time to get used to the filling, but if the sensitivity persists, a re-evaluation must be done.

You will be given care instructions at the conclusion of your treatment. Good oral hygiene practices, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new fillings.
