What is a Root canal treatment?

Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. Sometimes, there is trauma to the tooth or an incomplete fracture which would also need a root canal treatment. In order to save the tooth, the infected nerve, bacteria and any decay is removed and the remaining space is filled with a biocompatible material.

A root canal treatment is done on a tooth as a last resort to save it that would otherwise be removed.
