Do I need a night guard?

If you wake up in the morning with a sore jaw, you probably might. If you are in a highly stressful job and notice the edges of your teeth chipping away, you probably are grinding your teeth. Eventually grinding could be associated with headaches or earaches. They could wear away your fillings or even the teeth themselves! This is astonishing since the tooth is probably the hardest bone in the body. In the advanced stage, this leads to sensitivity of the teeth and wearing away of the joints. All of which could be prevented by wearing a simple night guard.

We will do an evaluation to see if you need a night guard.

Do I need to wear night guards while playing sports?

Mouth guards should be used by anyone — children and adults — who play contact sports such as football, boxing, soccer, ice hockey, basketball, lacrosse, and field hockey. However, even those participating in noncontact sports (for example, gymnastics) and any recreational activity (for example, skateboarding, mountain biking) that might pose a risk of injury to the mouth would benefit from wearing a protective mouth guard.
